The stairs to the attic are awesome! The cupboard and railing too!
That’s exactly how we wanted it as well, but the stair builder refused to let the quarter turn taper so sharply into the corner, because the tread depth in the "inner turn" would become too small (actually zero), which is uncomfortable/dangerous to walk on. For a secondary staircase like yours, I probably would have been persistent, but for us it’s the main stairway from the ground floor to the upper floor... and what can I say? The gentleman was right! And I can live well (also visually) with the softened version:
