I totally get you! We inherited the house from my husband’s grandmother and have been renovating the upper floor for almost four years as a holiday apartment for ourselves. :D The brother lives on the ground floor and finished the renovation two years ago. The house is 400 km away from where we live, so we can only work on it during long weekends and holidays. We had planned so much for this holiday. And we probably only accomplished 10%? and opened new construction sites instead. Instead of finally renewing the floors in the kids’ rooms and renovating the old box windows, we had to dig out an old cesspit that was about to collapse. And repave the yard. And have a tree cut down for that. And it all started with the brother’s harmless greeting: “I wouldn’t park there, there’s this weird new dip with a crack that’s somehow getting worse.”Thank you very much, we are complete amateurs and have taught ourselves everything. It feels good to hear. I just never want to stuff hemp (in any form) anywhere again and never touch drywall panels again xD but that will take a little longer.
I can't wait to continue raising the wooden walls. That is actually fun.
By the way, the built-in shelf in the bathroom was thrown out halfway through the work because we, i.e. my husband, didn’t feel like cutting the tiles for it. Hang in there. In five years, half the pain will be forgotten.
