He had written about 40 upload. Hence the question. 20mbit is enough for most people.

Sorry that you have to experience someone's dementia right now. I went through it with my grandfather. I wish you lots of strength.
If you have 6 KNX switches in a small space, that has nothing to do with smart. Lighting should be controlled based on presence, indoor and outdoor brightness, time of day, etc. As a "safety" measure, you can still add a normal switch.
When dementia progresses seriously, no switch helps anymore. On the contrary, "smart" can be an advantage here.
Still, I understand if someone decides against e.g. KNX (regardless of the financial factor). The added value for normally sized properties is questionable if you only want to use basic functions.
If you are so mindful about aging in the house, is everything wheelchair accessible, elevator, etc.?

When gaming, the decisive factor is latency. This is always higher on WiFi than on wired LAN. Then the internet connection also matters.
But extra internet connections usually don’t make much sense. Especially if there is only WiFi afterwards. Depending on the provider, you still share the bandwidth.

The squirrel feeds itself with difficulty... the pit is slowly getting bigger. The construction crane arrives on Wednesday!

To some extent, yes. For gaming, the guys of course use LAN. 2 connections, since we have a max of 50 Mbit/s available and I don't want to "suffer" if the guys are gaming, listening to music, streaming, downloading games... at the same time. They should manage with their access and I have my peace. Bandwidth is limited for us not due to oversubscription but cable attenuation. From the distribution point onwards there is enough bandwidth so that I am not oversubscribed with Telekom.

The moving date has just been set. It will be the first or second week of July. Today the ceilings are being filled.

Otherwise, everything has been finalized with the paramedics, tilers, and parquet layers. The painters have also received their instructions.

Thus, the construction period will be exactly 9 months.
My construction coordinator is still trying to find a good garden landscaper for the outdoor area. One has declined, the other has not said no. We are curious.

In other words, the final sprint is on

The house without L-stones/modeling, without carport but with landfill, architect, insurance, energy consultant, construction supervision, utility connections, painters, all floors will be at 388k€. Basically, the bare house as truly turnkey.

We have the same time horizon. The groundbreaking was on 3.9.18 and the move-in is in July.

However, we had an almost three-month construction stop because of that dreadful [notary].

That means: if everything had gone smoothly (as on the construction site), then we would be moving in now, or would already have moved in.

In any case, the apartment has already been terminated as of 31.7. Then we have to be in the new house!
