This is a semi-detached house and our neighbors simply decided shortly before the foundation slab was poured that they would prefer to use bricks.

Same architect, same construction company. At least we were "kindly" asked if we also wanted bricks before the ego trip was carried out. We didn't want to, because of the extra cost (about €7000).

I don't find the combination of brick and plaster to be bad. It often fits very well (on a house). Of course, this should be decided together during the planning of two semi-detached houses and NOT adjusted unilaterally at short notice anymore.

However, your base plaster seems extremely raised to me, clearly above the bottom edge of floor-to-ceiling windows. Is this the final condition or am I mistaken? Or why is it like that?
