By the way, I think the "permanently mounted" mudguard is great.

Do you already have a picture of it? Those small slip mats really annoy me a lot too.

Finally finished our wooden terrace including the border and fence and oiled it twice yesterday. Unfortunately, it took longer than expected . But next time I will probably use colorless oil.

Oh - why? Of course, you have a certain idea, but honestly, I also like this strong color. It changes over time anyway or looks different once it's lived in/used. We tried what felt like 300 different colors for our Douglas fir floorboards for the interior and also got professional advice to match the exposed beam ceiling. But nowhere did it feel quite right, or we noticed that we perceived it differently. Often, people choose a color somewhere in the middle to avoid mistakes. In the end, we decided on a shade that will be completely different than originally thought because we wanted to remove the reddish tint of the Douglas fir. Currently, we only have one board of it, and the whole thing will look completely different, but I'm already quite sure we will like it. Maybe they colored it differently in a glossy brochure than at your place, but I would like it like this too.

Let's see how the color changes. We liked the original color before oiling better :). I'm glad that the terrace is finally finished, that's the most important thing :D. The projects are getting smaller and smaller. After almost 2 years of planning and quite a bit of personal effort, the energy is slowly fading .
