The location and size of the property are really enviable! You have a really great piece of land and a super house on it. I actually wanted to post a picture of our construction start and the first progress, but after pictures like those from hampshire, one can only smile wearily at our little witch’s house anyway.

Thank you. The location is really dreamlike. The size is within the range of the other houses here. For my wife and me, there are about 115 sqm and for the boys about 30 sqm each. The house seems so large because, due to the hillside location, living space equals floor area, so it's basically a hillside bungalow with a gable roof. What is somewhat unusual is the price per sqm. I am looking forward to your pictures. We are all realizing a dream here and sharing it.

the forum thrives on different houses.

You may and should show your pictures. You are realizing your dream with the means available to you.

The conditions are often different. Our outdoor area is not finished yet, and despite doing it ourselves, about 30-50,000 will probably still go into it over the next 2-3 years. Still, when I look at our budget and would build with the same budget where my brother-in-law is looking, yes, a Flair 125 or 148 with a carport would fit in our garden by the terrace.

builds something more unusual. He also has different requirements. Many will build with 2-3 children planned in the next few years. So baby, toddler, loss of earnings.
He plans with older children. His house doesn’t work with a baby, toddler, and dog. He tries to keep his children close to him, but at the same time give them the freedom that 20-year-olds simply need. A house for the family and a house for a couple.

Small update

That my painter the edge insulation strips

What does "falls outside the norm" mean?

The average price is 1800-2500 euros per sqm

Ok that is hefty

You have to want and be able to do that.

What drives the price so high?

So, the building application is (verbally confirmed) approved, the demolition is almost finished, and the foundation slab will be poured the week after next. And then I hope to finally be able to show pictures soon that do justice to the thread title
