In general, the edge insulation strip is initially left in place.
The floor installer first lays the floor, then cuts the edge insulation strip flush with the top edge of the finished floor and then installs the skirting boards.
In the past, skirting boards and floor were placed directly on top of each other, which partly led to unfavorable sound transmissions because it was not decoupled.
I also came across this through research. Our parquet installer asked for it. For the carpet installer, I left 2 cm.
