nice I was so happy when the roof was on and covered... that felt pretty good, from then on nothing inside could get wet anymore etc...
Yes, TOTALLY!! I’m also so relieved. We had really bad luck shortly before, on Sunday there was a severe storm here with heavy and driving rain and wind, liters of water got under the Katja Sprint, which was already laid because the roofers ACTUALLY wanted to come a few days earlier Now everything had to be taken out again & dried. But now. The windows are still missing...
Ah, finally some pictures from the duplex again. It’s a bit slow with you guys. Or are we only getting half the story here?
No, you’ve definitely noticed that correctly. The shell construction guys really worked unbelievably hard, but all the other parties are dragging their feet. The carpenters dawdled with the order at the cutting center, then the materials didn’t arrive, then they were on vacation, so we waited three weeks just for the roof trusses. Then the shell builders went on vacation who still had to build the interior walls in the attic. Then the roofers were slow as well and the electricians and plumbers for the rough installations are also dragging their feet right now. Will they come or won’t they, every day is a surprise. Then we chose an unusual special color for the windows (Sheffield Oak light), after the window manufacturer took 7 weeks!!! after measurement for the correct element lists, Aluplast now also needs weeks before they can apply this foil. The windows are now planned for week 39, directly followed by interior and exterior plastering. The plaster master was here today, I dream of broom finish plaster, I just have to convince my husband... The exterior paint for our half will be “De Nimes” by Farrow & Ball, I’m really looking forward to it. The other half will get a friendly brown/mud tone. Otherwise, I’m currently taking care of parquet, floor tiles, and sealing for our exposed concrete stairs, the metalworker has submitted an acceptable offer for an industrial bar glazing with sliding door (*happy*) and some nice stair railings, painter is commissioned, plumbing is in the final coordination phase. For the parquet I still have to collect samples, because I want to treat it myself (luting & soap), a few ash planks are currently on their way to me. In short, everything is moving forward, but it’s dragging out. I hope the interior work won’t be quite so slow overall. But we have slipped from planned completion in mid-November to the end of January. Mid-November was admittedly already VERY optimistic.
