Actually, I am rather of the opinion that one shouldn’t watch it at all. It’s a private broadcaster that shamelessly exploits the misery of a family to make fat cash, and the people who are publicly displayed really don’t get a penny of it. Because they are simply too uneducated to understand that there would be something in it for them. Still, I can’t claim to have resisted this urge myself. From "I have to google who this is" it turned into half an evening during which I watched the documentaries straight through, practically paralyzed with disbelief.

I also have a power outlet in the guest bathroom window recess for Christmas decorations. The window faces the street. Who puts their illuminated Christmas decorations in the bathroom window that you only see in the evening? So at the time when you lower the blinds so no one can look in while you do your business. Totally unnecessary then

*lol I have a string of lights there all year round, and so no one can look in, there’s a little decorative folding screen. Simple... decorated to my heart’s content, created lighting, no one looks in, and it even looks quite nice from outside...

I think it depends. In the office, living room, and so on, I find power strips to be the better solution. More outlets and switchable. The power strip disappears behind the furniture anyway. In the dining area, etc., I can't imagine it...
