Yes, under the slab. I just know that there are pipes laid. In summer, excess energy is fed back in there and thus heats the soil (reactivates it), so that you don’t end up sitting on an ice cellar eventually.

If the sand is not on it yet, it looks like this (different project, not our house):

I always thought you should never lay it under the slab exactly for this reason?

He has been doing this for several years and has gained good experience. The concept convinced us.

An acquaintance built with him in 2006 using still "conventional" geothermal energy without soil activation. Apart from the fact that we didn't like the resulting restrictions (no deep-rooted plants, etc.) and also wouldn't have had enough space for it, the situation with him is that in spring his garden has snow or ground frost significantly longer than the neighboring plots. So you can already tell that heat is being extracted from the soil. That was one reason why we actually decided against geothermal energy. Now, with this concept, we were able to use geothermal energy again.

Since there are already several builders who have implemented the concept and all are enthusiastic about it, I no longer feel like a pioneer of a new concept
More like with the wood cellar, where there are still not so many.

All very brave, hats off! I wouldn't dare to do either.

I wouldn’t offer myself as a guinea pig either. But the concept with geothermal energy has been working for a few years now and we are, I believe, the 5th wooden cellar. After he built it for his own daughter as well, we also dared to do it.

That is really very exciting. The information available on [Flächenkollektoren] is very clear: under no circumstances build over them, as precipitation significantly contributes to the efficiency. How much does the collector cost?
