My parents used to heat 120 sqm of living space with the tiled stove. It was even quite comfortable. No, for working people that’s not an option. [...]
Two winters ago, due to renovations, we took the oil heating out of operation and heated with coal. The tiled stove on the ground floor was loaded in the morning, after half an hour it could be closed – it kept over 80 sqm warm. All the doors were open, and in all rooms it was at least 20 degrees. The same with the fireplace stove upstairs: in the morning 9 briquettes on the embers, after half an hour close the stove and open all the doors. Cozy warmth everywhere – even when I came home from work after 12 hours. Then add more fuel again. As a permanent solution, that wouldn’t be for me either, especially I hate emptying the ashes. But we got through the winter well.
Currently, upstairs (living room) we burn some logs every day or sometimes not for two weeks, depending on our mood. I love this warmth.
