Hi Tumaa,

the plot is a total of 701 sqm, including a green strip of 146 sqm.
In Schleswig-Holstein, most plots are flat. At the same time, we are about 1.5 m above the lowest point of the building area. That was very important to me because of the clayey soil. In heavy rain, I didn't want to have a pond on my property.

The slope you noticed is so slight that I didn’t even notice it, maybe around 2-3%? The green walls will be planted.

Has the property not been surveyed yet? Do you have elevation points of the property corners? So it's no drama, but it does look like there's a bit of a slope. It depends on where you want to place your house, where the garage/carport is, and how you would like your garden to be laid out. But even 3% can cause quite a bit of extra cost later if you want everything to be level—garden/terrace/garage, etc. 3% on 30m is still 0.9m.

Beautiful and ugly ... how many different opinions there are

One reason for the boring houses is - in my opinion - that the judgments can be so harsh.
People dare to do something, build "something different" ... and get a slap on the wrist or are showered with mockery.

Although I don't like many of the examples, I think it's great that they exist!
I much prefer "unconventional imagination" to timidity.

It is often constraints of circumstance that produce "boring" houses. As a passionate amateur photographer with a passion for architecture, I already had a clearer idea of how the house could look in the end. I envy everyone who was able to implement it like that – we couldn't.

Specifications in the development plan, budget limits, time pressure. Limited area on the plot. No basement possible and still a need for space that somehow has to be realized. Design restrictions with the construction company. And in the end, many end up with a house that will not find a place in Architectural Digest.

Sometimes it saddens me too, considering the costs incurred. For that money, wasn't the dream house also possible visually? But in the end, these are luxury problems. It seems very successful inside, even though we haven’t moved in yet. It is a privilege to live with lots of space in a beautiful place, we are all healthy... all good.
