I hardly believe that it's only supposed to stay for the construction phase...

No, it stays. But it's only in the other three residential units; in mine, there will be a "special" dirt-trapping mat with a pattern ;)
But it is installed so that it can be removed (for cleaning if the vacuum cleaner is not enough)

And this is explicitly desired because we all "hate" the small mats that tenants put behind the door themselves. Also, the gap between the door and the floor is extremely small. Therefore, vinyl is cut out, the dirt-trapping mat is mounted with a rail, done.

I hope in the relatively tight space that it will either subordinate itself to the purple wall or the zebra wall - otherwise it will be the house of colors ;)
