At first, I also thought the idea of the cutting stone in the sink was kind of cool - but after thinking about it more, I dismissed it because 1. I don’t want to ruin my good knives on the stone and 2. I find it pretty practical to position my board on the countertop so that my organic waste drawer system is directly underneath: after chopping, open the drawer and wipe the scraps in. That doesn’t work with the cutting block in the sink anymore. But overall cool!

Yes, but it wasn’t that easy since the fronts are also made of stone. The process of selecting the natural stone took weeks, also because we were actually advised against this stone since it’s acid-sensitive. Your post in the kitchen thread back then encouraged me to dare it anyway. Until yesterday I was nervous whether everything would go smoothly without breaking.

Whether the cutting block proves itself will show in everyday use. For me it’s simply an extension of the workspace between sink and cooking. We still have the base cabinet with waste system to the right of the sink. I’m curious about that!

May I ask how much a kitchen with stone fronts typically costs? And which manufacturer offers something like this?

Depending on the devices, I would guess around 50k.
