why do so many houses in Germany look so boring? Gable roof, pyramid roof, flat roof, no corners, no edges, as long as it’s square it’s fine. Accordingly, the interior layout is almost identical to that of terraced houses. Here’s a general contractor from my hometown Webb Brown Neaves. Here, people want houses to look pretty from the street. The kitchens are always near the garden.
I live in Belgium. Apparently, people here don’t want houses to look pretty. There is something like a loosely enforced building code. Its first paragraph reads: build ugly, even if it could be beautiful. Here are a few amusing examples (found under: ugly Belgium houses.)
