Hi Toooias,
yes, that's exactly how it is. We are very satisfied with it, however, a plexiglass panel has been attached to the top of the parapet in front of the railing with cable ties as protection to keep the kids safe.
I’m surprised you got approval for something like that without signing any waiver.
Our metalworker strongly opposed such a design (because it constitutes a climbing aid).
The plexiglass will have to stay mounted there for years and will certainly not look any better because of that.

Strange ... houses are becoming more and more energy-efficient to conserve resources - and possibly the wallet - but with water this is (still) being overlooked ...
Energy efficiency yes, but not at the expense of my quality of life. I pay too much for my house for that.

For us, it was very simple. During the acceptance of the house, OSB boards were screwed on as a railing. Afterwards, we had the railing built by the metalworker. We bought it as a kit and got help with the assembly. This way, the railing builder has no liability for the finished result.

Then the gastronomy lives quite dangerously - that's where I got it from. I worked for a long time as a student in restaurant kitchens. Such a magnetic strip is standard there. I'm more afraid of cutting myself when rummaging in a drawer. People are just so different *laugh*
Beauty - well. I didn't find the knife blocks appealing either, and when I think about the dirt that collects at the bottom over time - then I like the strip even more.
