Fortunately, I can only report the opposite regarding my health. I have had rheumatism for about 15 years, unfortunately with almost all major joints inflamed and massively damaged (hip, knee). This often led to movement restrictions such as being unable to walk! (only with great difficulty using crutches, etc.). The construction came, I had to regularly climb scaffolding up and down, carry things, lay cables, install insulation, do drywall, lay floors, etc. For me, it was like a forced rehab that really worked wonders. Right after the construction, I was really quite fit, but unfortunately that is already fading again . Do I have to build again now? Oh yes, something did break after all. My glasses were weaker than a batten o_O

Symmetry is not modern and therefore not particularly popular in house building nowadays. I think that our house looks "old-fashioned" in a good way, and that's exactly what I like about it.

Pastel colors are also not in, but they have a positive effect on me, so it will be painted vanilla yellow. It fits well into our street (the first houses were built 10-15 years ago) because there is no color that is not represented there. I like that and even find it funny. Our district is called "Legoland" by the original inhabitants. A few streets away, in a larger area, there are exclusively white/anthracite-colored houses, which is then more modern and certainly liked by the people living there. :)

I am glad that you like our house. Thank you for your compliments. :)

"In house construction nowadays," symmetry is actually extremely popular - only the followers of this dogmatic symmetricalism do not understand that it is not similar, but the opposite of (harmonious) symmetry. They do not notice the difference.

You probably mean the design planning?! Symmetry is a type of design, but without effort. Yes, it is somewhat outdated, but the dogma of the standard villa, which often has never seen a professional designer, but is quite popular on small plots due to the space. Mostly, however, and here you are included, only for pragmatic reasons. But it has nothing to do with architecture. And not with "stylish," even if some call it stylish.

In our old village center, symmetry is even partially required. "Old-fashioned" is therefore desired. And somehow it is pleasantly comforting in a beautiful way. To this day, I am unsure whether this is a matter of taste or a "primal desire" for beauty. I would describe myself as a fan of symmetry. And yet I believe that symmetry and extravagance or individuality by no means exclude each other. There are aesthetic principles that become outdated, symmetry (or the two-thirds rule and the golden ratio) somehow do not belong to them.

Would you like to explain that a bit more? Because unfortunately, I did not understand it. In most new buildings, I do not notice the symmetry, only "arbitrarily (?)" distributed windows in several different sizes. I probably belong to those who do not notice the difference. ;-) But I would really like to learn more.
