The staircase to the attic is awesome! The cupboard and the railing too!

That's exactly how we wanted it, but the stair builder refused to make the quarter turn so sharp at the corner because the tread depth on the inside of the turn would be too small (actually zero), which is uncomfortable/dangerous to walk on. For a secondary staircase like yours, I probably would have insisted, but for us, it's the main staircase from the ground floor to the upper floor... and what can I say? The guy was right! And I can live well (also visually) with the softened version:

Really very nice staircase! And yes, the "curve" at the stair cupboards is no joke. Until yesterday, our little one was also forbidden to go upstairs alone. Even though lately she often ignored that. Now with the new railing, it works very well.

I am just thinking of my little climber.. with the stair shelf back there I would have a stomach ache… it goes down quite deep.. otherwise great!

Ours is fortunately not a little climber if you look at it that way. We often think it's a pity, but in this case rather reassuring.

I would close off the top 1/3 to half of the stairs there and make a resting spot on top. Reading and looking outside in between...

I have a question about the stair cupboards as well. I really like them. I wonder if they can also fit under a curved staircase (since today I am proud to be a "stair owner").






Estimated about half of the approximately 300m² of flooring to be laid is done. Everything has to be completed by the end of next week.



And we have internet (500/50 MBit/s Vodafone Business), a stainless steel railing on the outside stairs, and also a heat pump.






Currently we work every day from 7:00 to 13:00 in the office, then until about 19:00 (+-) on the construction site. Saturday "of course" the whole day at the construction site, but Sunday "only" half a day. In the evenings usually still a bit in the office as well as Sunday afternoon :rolleyes:. I am so glad when this is finally done... 26 days left...

would you like to reveal what the carpenter wanted for the cabinets?
