The argument of floor space is ridiculous in view of the current fashion sin of huge glass and window facades. Floor space is lost there, not with a few small radiators.

I also had to laugh earlier, it's not like the radiator takes up half the room and suddenly the house is twice as big...

Now to call window area a fashion sin as well, well, all one can do is shake one's head. Do you know what windows produce? Light that has a positive effect on the mood, you should try that sometime.

They do not generate it, they let it through, my mistake.

Beyond a certain amount of glass, it doesn’t get any brighter, that’s clear to you? And to make a room "flooded with light" in real estate jargon, you certainly don’t need 6-meter-long glass fronts on the south side. We have 4 floor-to-ceiling French windows and normal windows and so far every visitor has said, "it’s really nicely bright here with you." Good planning and arrangement is much more important; that way we have wonderful space for a buffet/sideboard, armchairs, plants, etc.

But of course everyone can do as they please and gladly put sofas and such in front of windows if they like it. Just blaming radiators for destroying space is nonsense by comparison.

Classic "whataboutism," you know that, right? I don't even want to contradict you regarding windows and usable space; we could now also discuss shelves, display cabinets, "wall decorations," and the like. But it remains the same – put together the radiators of a house, they cover a floor area that puts some guest bathrooms in the shade. This area costs money and simply cannot be used otherwise (or saved), there's no getting around that.
