Hi Axel,
Whether cables are laid in conduits or not is a topic of debate. If they are laid openly on the floor, the risk of damage is greater because everyone steps on them. Therefore, it is good that the Cat cables are in conduits. For the electrician, installation without conduits is naturally faster. Our electrician installed conduits on the floor on his own initiative and then no conduits inside the walls.

I find the distance of the bent cable next to the study door strange. I thought a minimum distance had to be maintained and cables always had to be laid straight.
Regards
Björn

Hello Denz,

yes, a floor outlet is planned for power and network, right at the desk.

Hello Björn,

regarding the bent conduit, I spoke with our electrician. He says there is an "installation zone" that lies 30 cm to the side of the door openings. Of course, he lays the cables straight there. But if, as in our case, the electrical wiring has to be routed around the wiring for the thermostats, he just makes a bend.

Best regards

Axel

Hello,

as far as I could see in the pictures, the electrician has laid underground cables and not Nym cables, so it is acceptable that he did not use empty conduits. With Nym cables, it would not be permitted on the raw subfloor. Regarding the installation zones at vertical edges, 10cm from the edge up to 30cm away (20cm zone). For horizontal edges, from below 15cm to 45cm (30cm) and from above also 15cm to 45cm (30cm) below the ceiling. Always measured from the finished floor height, not the raw subfloor. The floor construction must still be added to that!

Hello Tom1607,

thank you very much for the explanations, which I find very helpful! So - judging by the pictures - has my electrician done everything correctly?

Best regards

Axel

I just looked again in my DIN collection regarding NYM on raw concrete floors. Why do you keep paying for that...

But that is impossible on a shell construction site because someone is constantly walking over the cables. And with that, NYM on the raw concrete floor should be off the table. Even if it’s not explicitly stated like that. I don’t want to say anything wrong here....

Hello Axel,

the bend next to the box and the outgoing cable going upwards is borderline for me. Just check whether the 10cm from the edge or the 30cm from the edge (20cm installation zone vertically) are observed, because then the cables are in the installation zone. If not, someone could drill into them because they can assume that no cables run there. Personally, I always run the cables 'under' the boxes. It's only minimal extra effort, but if I see a box somewhere, I am careful above and below it but not 20cm to the left or right of it...
