With us, things are now happening one after the other:
- The kitchen is installed, only the stone countertop and glass backsplash are missing, which will be installed on Thu/Fri.
The missing freezer will also arrive then.
- In the main bathroom, we started installing the sanitary fixtures over the weekend. On Friday evening, we began with the vanity cabinet and the preparations for the washbasin. It will only be installed during the week because I'm still missing the faucets - I hate delivery delays.
We also installed the recessed mirror cabinet. That was a half disaster because the rough builder apparently did not support the mounting frame enough, and it sagged a bit. The mirror cabinet only went in with a lot of effort and a tube of lubricant.
- On Saturday, I then installed the first toilet, which went quite smoothly, unlike the shower.
I needed about 4 hours for it because I had to go to the hardware store 3 times: The connections were just so awkwardly placed that the smallest extension was too long. So, in the end, I had to use different S-connectors.
In summary, I can already say that it’s no rocket science to install such things yourself, but it can also be quite time-consuming, especially since (I) am doing all this for the first time.
Yesterday, we also hung the TV with friends, luckily everything went well, especially since my electrician apparently put the HDMI cable in a conduit that was too small, or it got compressed, as the cable can no longer be moved.
The cable is sufficient for 4K HDR content. If something new comes into the house in 10 years, I’ll have to think about how to solve that. But for now, I don’t care; it can’t be helped.
Because the dining table will be underneath and 5 of the 6 supplied screws stripped, I dismantled the bracket again and hung it on heavy-duty anchors. That was quite laborious and time-consuming, but now I can be sure that the thing won’t fall down and could probably even hold a small car.
The technical room is also finished, and thanks to clever planning, we now have space on 16m² for house connections, washing machine + utility sink, ventilation system, heating with 300L boiler, electrical including KNX and LAN distributor as well as 6.5 linear meters of shelving. Everything is still accessible for maintenance work.
