I absolutely have to upload pictures of the roof truss.. simply fascinating these wooden constructions... everything was standing after one day...

I’m also speaking up and introducing our house We also belong to the brick faction....

So.... 670 sqm plot, southwest orientation
155 sqm living space, 1.50 m knee wall, mixed facade, shed dormer, covered terrace as roof extension.


These are not the most recent pictures; the brickwork is now completed. The dormer will be plastered white

Windows and front door will be anthracite and the roof overhangs white. We have very wide roof overhangs and decided against cornice boxes.

In total, three days of personal effort by the three of us with the result:
- significant muscle soreness
- great satisfaction from having created something with our own hands
- finished roof frame and topping-out ceremony in sight

The whole process included:
- delivery of the wood and marking, pre-cutting, pre-drilling
- marking on the upper floor and preparing platforms/scaffolding
- having all the wood lifted with the crane and placing/aligning the purlins
- distributing, aligning, and fastening the rafters and collar beams
- attaching ridge plates and bracing straps

It was fun!
