Yesterday we had the topping-out ceremony, today the roof tiles arrived and will hopefully be laid on from tomorrow. Tomorrow the windows and door are also supposed to arrive, on Monday the plumber will come for the pipes

Anthracite-colored roof tiles are for city people who don't know that cows are not purple.

Or for villagers who simply like it better anyway :-P Tastes are just different after all

I have to admit that the development plan dictates red for us [emoji41]. But we would have chosen red anyway, even if we hadn’t had to. I find the color here so beautifully classic and it will definitely look very very nice with a white house and a fully planted perennial front garden [emoji7][emoji7]. However, I had thought the red would be a bit darker. But this way it’s okay too.

Depressed? *lol then I have something else. Today the roof undercladding was done. Ours is of course anthracite - the windows will be too.


Our neighbors want the cladding in white... well. Everyone has to decide for themselves
but it only meets at one spot behind the house - and I rarely look there anyway.
