We have shutters in the new building, that's why some people have looked at me askance (they think raffstores are stupid, they have them in the office..)

All of them can be operated from the inside with a crank. It’s quick and comfortable. If there had been an (affordable) electric solution, we probably would have done it. But you can’t have everything.

However, I also rarely want to lower all the blinds at the same time. In the evening, for example, you can just lower the ones you are passing by. To actually control them all electrically at the same time, they first have to be linked together in some way

I never understood why people close the blinds in the evening anyway. And I also find the slow rattling of electric blinds really annoying. Mine are (in the old building) built-in and manual and basically always up. Venetian blinds would be great on the west side, maybe if I ever replace the windows...
