Today, as already announced, we worked on insulating the attic. One slant is almost done - two panels are still missing.
First, 200mm of mineral wool was cut to size with an electric keyhole saw, then clamped between the rafters, the vapor barrier was connected to the existing membrane at the central purlin and pulled up, and all transitions in the foil and from the foil to the wall were sealed. Then battens were screwed under the rafters and 22mm OSB panels were added underneath.
As you can see from the wiring chaos, the gas boiler, hot water tank, and the main unit of the controlled residential ventilation system will find their place in the attic, which in turn means more space in the basement.
Air exchange can still take place in the slants on the upper floor (plaster and screed are still drying), and by the end of the second week of January, the plumber and electrician want to be ready so that we can turn on the heating.
