Or the trend is going back to the roots with simple mortar, clay, wood, stone, and insulation made of straw. Done properly, such a house definitely has a very pleasant living climate, but honestly, I don’t believe we will be building half-timbered houses as standard again anytime soon (even though they are much more beautiful from the outside than modern single-family houses, including my own).

Yes, I did. But that was quite a while ago.
It is this one:

Otherwise, things are progressing pretty quickly. Move-in is at the end of January and it’s full steam ahead. Painters, electricians, tilers, grouting specialists (I didn’t even know that was a profession), next week also sanitary installation, kitchen, glazier, carpenter.
Especially the electrician is working fast:

No idea why the picture is rotated.

Why the cameras are constantly lit right now, I still need to clarify.

My personal highlight, the first switch is installed. Seeing it live makes it even much cooler. Rotated again -.-
By the way, in the utility room, that’s why the wall looks so “bad.”

There’s still so much to do. The stair cabinets to the attic probably won’t be finished completely. Telekom completely messed it up despite being commissioned in December 2019, stair landing in front of the front door, remaining plasterer work... those are potential candidates that won’t be finished by move-in. In this case, truly “thanks Corona.”
Electrician work is also tight here and there. Again, thanks Corona. The electrician ordered all the stuff well in advance. Among other things, 10 presence detectors. Today the message from the wholesaler: Delivery not until the beginning of February, so installation mid/end of February.
So today during work I searched the internet extensively and after long searching identified a dealer who at least has a few in stock. So I ordered four on my own account, to at least be able to switch the “critical” areas with presence detectors. The rest will go through the electrician.

Yeah, exciting times right now. I’m doing home office amidst moving boxes. We have 130 boxes. About 40 are already packed and standing around the apartment. The kid is going berserk because toys are “disappearing” bit by bit. Generally, everything we pack, she suddenly wants exactly at that moment and it should not be packed yet. xD
Then my boss, who suffers from constant performance pressure and is bombarding me with work. Of course, he wants all that done before my moving vacation. I’m curious how he’ll react when I have to tell him that I haven’t managed much because there’s just too much.

Conclusion: Building is cool. Building is stressful.
In the end, everything will be fine, but before that, sometimes it really sucks.

Well, the painter in the utility room really, really gave it his all.

It's glowing... and if we get new lids today (because the current ones have cellulite), then we'll close it up with plaster today and the painter will come tomorrow.

Adapting existing electrical wiring to the 12V LEDs cost my dad a lot of nerves, including me; I will probably never understand electricity. The mechanical work was a breeze by comparison. I hope to have normality back in the house in a week.

Yes, that's true. It is clearly visible that no putty was applied. However, this was a deliberate decision and does not bother us. This room only needs to accommodate the washing machine, dryer, freezer chest, and the like. They are not bothered by it either.

I meant more the smearing to the right of the panel... the rest looks okay so far

Yes, that's what I thought. As I said, it doesn't bother us.
