To be honest, I’m afraid I’ll start with your second statement tomorrow. I went by the motto "1cm gap to the wall is enough" – Dr. Google says in 90% of cases transition profiles between rooms are mandatory – I just thought it looked nicer that way. I wanted to lay laminate through the mini hallway connecting Children's Room 1 + Children's Room 2 – the longest planks are about 6m – the room climate should be quite similar – do you really think that won’t work at all?

My laminate instructions said a 1cm gap, and then it can be laid up to a length of 12m and a width of 9 meters. Take a look there. [emoji3]

According to the "package insert," my laminate comes in 10m strips... Google argues with different room climates - but occasionally I have also found similar inexperienced people like me who had no problems :/

10 m as stated in the [Beipackzettel] refer to the laminate itself. The joint of the screed must be continued if present.

Hello,

I think that is completely unproblematic. Since the laminate is laid floating, there is no risk of breakage as with tiles. With a fixed connection to the substrate like tiles or glued parquet, you have to make the joint, but with floating installation you don’t. The movement of the floor is not a problem.

Risk of breakage maybe not, but you definitely have increased impact sound transmission from room to room this way.
