Why? - it seems to me to be technically correct. Otherwise, the long joint would have been parallel to the window front.

...and that's exactly what I find more visually pleasing. Especially the view from the hallway into the living room somehow isn't quite harmonious. But if there is furniture inside, it probably doesn't matter anymore anyway.

The parallelism, yes. But depending on the position of the sun, a joint edge can temporarily coincide with the "light boundary" (and the smallest unevenness becomes noticeable) – right?

Why should it be mean? I would probably have done it like you; the expert says this way is better.

And as mentioned, it depends on the light incidence and so on. Besides, it makes the part that looks narrow appear visually wider.

Dear friends of house building, here is the promised update along with a photo, taken at the first light of the day at 8:15 a.m. Over the past two days, the ground floor of the main house has grown nicely. In the picture, you can see the finished north side (4 windows, from left to right: shower / WC, pantry, 2x kitchen). The west side is also finished. You can see the kitchen window and the opening for the sliding door to the terrace in front of the future dining room. On the east side, the door opening to the future study room can be seen. The large opening on the south side marks the passage to the future living room. Since the extensions for the study and living room are without a cellar, these parts of the building will come a little later, only after the cellar has been insulated, sealed, and backfilled from the outside. Best regards Axel
