Yes, Bora downdraft extractor that is routed outside through the screed. Why complicated? The duct comes onto the floor and that’s it. However, the area was left out of the screed. I assume that dry screed or something similar will be placed over it. Probably the flowing screed would have undermined the duct. No, no controlled residential ventilation system.

I once used a bathroom in a hotel in the Rheingau that was molded "in one piece." It did have a touch of Star Trek, but just the thought of zero dirt corners was already pleasant.

They can also become rotten, especially if they are not installed correctly.

We had perfect weather on the construction site today. Everything is now ready for the carpenter to start building the walls. Here are a few pictures of the progress:

This is what the plot in the village looked like last summer:

This was taken today from the same spot:

For the first time, we were able to park in the driveway – still 3m below cellar level...

At cellar level, there is only the house connection room; above that will be part of the terrace. The view from the cellar is unusual:

On the west side of the house, you can now see the side entrance to the kitchen while still standing at cellar level. Above the wall, at upper floor level, there is a terrace with evening sun.

Now we are on the east side of the house and can walk straight to the house entrances. (The almost grown-up boys each get their own front door, and of course, we do as well). On the right, the "ramp" that will later be planted leads up to the upper garden and to the upper floor level. Above the stone wall is a small terrace in front of our sleeping area.

And because we can’t get enough of the view, here it is again from the upper garden:

Guys, it’s February!
By the end of next month, the house should be standing on the floor slabs. Then there will be an update.

The trip to our new home did us a lot of good once again.

dreamlike view - something like that is unfortunately denied to us in the boring flatlands.

A couple of smaller things have happened:
- the smaller bathroom is basically finished (towel radiator will be mounted on the wall tomorrow)
- the door panel is finally installed
- sliding door to the kitchen is now installed
- in the large bathroom the washbasin is still missing, unfortunately the bracket was delivered incorrectly and we will probably have to move in without the washbasin being usable upstairs... 4 weeks delivery time -.- ... we now need a temporary board (OSB etc.) with 5cm thickness ... thought it would be easy to get something like that but somehow ...
