Of course, both variants can basically be used. I am a fan of sliding lift doors because I don’t have door leaves in the way after opening, and thus the position of the furniture does not necessarily have to be aligned with the type of door. But the window area could also have been solved here with a smaller hinged door and more fixed elements. But does it make more sense?

Lift-and-slide doors always take up quite a bit of space. They are also pretty unattractive in appearance, usually too much glass in one piece. But that's a matter of taste. Last drawback, of course, the price.

I like it.

May I ask which window manufacturer it is?

In terms of color, we have DB07 aluminum front shell on the outside and white on the inside. Since all the walls inside are white, with 120x120 concrete-look tiles on the ground floor and parquet upstairs, I am glad that the windows are the way they are.

A sliding door may make sense in narrow rooms, but not generally. There are many house designs where you don’t need such a thing. If properly planned, nothing stands in the way. In this case, or if the appearance is put so much in the foreground, one could have considered using a cheaper alternative, namely a fixed element with a hinged door. It would have suited the glass front better. In any case, the rule does not apply: better a lift-and-slide door than no lift-and-slide door.

Starting today, the windows will be installed. Unfortunately, on all the photos my wife took, there is always someone in them. Therefore, only the detail is shown. The windows are RAL 9007, so silver or gray aluminum.

Considering that we changed our minds at short notice from the light roof tiles of RAL 7016 to now silver, we like the shade surprisingly well.
