, doesn’t it get dark in the kitchen, especially in winter with the low roof?

No, not at all.
The bottom edge of the beam is at about 2.70m, so about 20cm higher than the ceiling in the kitchen.
The recess at the tall window also lets in quite a bit of light.

I actually took photos of it, the pictures capture the situation quite well.
Because of the low sun in winter, it doesn’t matter anyway. In summer, it will certainly be a bit darker, but the blinds can stay up then.
It works well for us. ;)

Oops, completely forgot to reply. Since the renovation, moving, etc., problems with the craftsmen, work was totally hectic, I haven’t really managed to take everything "ready for publishing" photos yet..... I first need to tidy up ... :) In-between picture ..... took advantage of Black Friday .... and since then have only been able to install 3 so far .... I also have a floor plan ... Created by the robotic vacuum: I find it impressive how accurately it measured the ground floor. Up is south, right is west. The quarter circle is the corner fireplace, to the right of it is the SbS refrigerator, top right is the dining room (you can see the table legs), bottom right is the kitchen (with new breakthrough), red dot, that’s where the vacuum is standing, bottom center is the entrance and staircase, left of that is the "flower room," bathroom and guest toilet (bottom left) are not vacuumed, so that area isn’t "counted," top left bedroom ....

looks amazing. Two questions, are the doors oversized like that, or is the ceiling low? Based on the handle height, I would estimate the door height at about 240-245cm. Doors look great, I also have flush edges, but not flush with the room. What kind of floor do you have, looks like a seamless screed floor? Or is it clean vinyl? And where are the baseboards, or did the dimensions not allow for them? I'm still looking for a similar solution for my hallway, I have a niche about 50cm deep and about 2.85m room height. I would like it to finish flush and ceiling-high.
