On the one hand, the location is something special, a vacant lot in a residential area with many old houses loosely connected. The super-modern Bauhaus look was already out of the question there, as it would have looked out of place.
On the other hand, my family and I have often had the experience in the past that we were out and about looking at the buildings. After a while, we always looked at each other and said, it's a shame that houses are not built like this anymore. We like the playful and somewhat more unusual. Because of the hillside location, we didn’t want a (modern) city villa, as that would have looked quite tower-like with 3 visible floors (2 floors would have been too small for us). A hipped roof was under discussion but lost to the mansard roof in terms of style factor.

I find it unfortunate when pleasant, merely not hyper-clean shapes are already perceived as "playful." I often think one would have to found an association for the preservation of the mansard roof and jointly purchase a building area for the purpose of a project-related development plan if one is not keen on cookie-cutter designs. Many recent development plans aren’t openly hostile to mansard roofs, but effectively exclude them through the textual formulation of height requirements.

The price does the rest. Many young builders are not exactly stingy, but dislike paying the price of 2 roofs when there are constructive alternatives to the simple costs.

Well, I'll put it this way: Everything that is white now will certainly change

Today I wired the heating circuit distributors. I left the actuators in the HKV. It was easier than expected!
