Here, even the bathrooms tiled up to the ceiling were not considered offensive by anyone. One should not necessarily generalize one's personal taste. Otherwise, I could also claim that =>man<= thinks that people with only half-tiled bathrooms have probably run out of money.

Old farmhouse, mostly just for personal use.
Killing pigs, bleeding them out, scalding, and cutting up were done in the yard. The pigs hung under the barn roof until the inspection stamp was placed on them.
So, not allowed according to the EU, and not repackaged or relabeled either.

Do the same people then probably also associate "purple" with dairy cattle? – I come from a butcher dynasty and have never associated white tiles with slaughterhouses. It seems to me to be a cliché.

Hopefully they only hung there in winter

Game rooms or slaughter kitchens must have washable walls and ceilings today, I learned in the hunting course. Many are not tiled, nowadays they rather stick some kind of sandwich panels with metal surface on the walls.

Autumn and sometimes in spring. Although I don’t believe it was less hygienic back then than some sausage factories today.

Not everything was bad in the past. Without additives, the animal had to be processed quickly, no by-products were passed off as other products, and pressed products that today are grandly sold as hind ham didn’t exist.

And when the head cheese was turned, I always went along. I was allowed to nibble the aspic off the boards.
