Looks good! Recessed or resting on top?

Of course we are insured against fire. More than a brown spot on the parquet won't happen from a flying spark. And when I go to bed, I don't open the glass pane anymore! I rather find the glass frame nonsense. If a spark should fly, do you think it would only fly 30 cm to the side? Besides: wood should be burned down and only replenished (open the fireplace) when there are only embers left. It takes a few seconds for the logs to catch fire again. By then my glass pane is long closed again.

Very cool. What do I need to consider to recess a glass plate in front of the fireplace? I've read about it several times now and would like to do it the same way.

In principle, you only have to remove the screed by the thickness of the glass plate around the fireplace.

The slab has been poured. For the first two days, we had to water it well at 30 degrees to prevent cracks in the concrete. For the past two days, it has been raining continuously, which saves us that. The calcium silicate bricks will be delivered in the coming days. I just need to decide whether to order the bulk density 1.4 or 1.8. Do you think that will have a big impact on the resistance when hitting it, for example with a wheelbarrow?

You take the stone with which the statics were calculated.
