You're probably right about the "planning accident" but Madame fills it mercilessly with vases, candles, etc.; you won't even see that later. That's how I know her anyway; wherever decoration can go, some will be placed.

Yes, a two-tiered windowsill is of course practical for that: low decorative junk can stay on the lower level, over which the window sash then swings.

oh I'm jealous We’re getting the cleaning this week, the house connections at the beginning of July, and then comes my horror - the screed. Horror because then nothing happens for 4 weeks or more... then there’s still the floor, painting, bathroom + kitchen. And actually we wanted to move in September... it’s probably going to be tight.

Don't worry about it... we had 4 months of construction delay due to the winter. That's really stressful! Zero action on the construction site. At least you have summer (although construction workers sometimes have families and go on vacation too) :-( But somehow it finally gets closer to the end, hang in there!

Vacation over! Well, at least I accomplished something.

The substructure around the pond cost me nerves. But I hope it's right now.
