Lift-and-slide doors typically have a very "unbalanced" surface-to-frame ratio, high weights, and high torsional forces during movement. This is not comparable to a tilt window that remains tilted open permanently except when you go on vacation. You don’t have to share my view that aluminum is more robust. Conversely, I don’t want to join the faction of “the majority is never wrong.” Older people will remember: the fact that the mediocre product gains the larger market share is not happening for the first time (cf. Betamax / VHS or the like).

We are making great progress.

On Saturday I chopped up a cherry tree that the excavator driver had knocked down for me.

Yesterday and today a lot of backfilling and compaction was done. Then today the surveyor came for the fine staking out and some of the first strip foundations were partially uncovered.

Here partly wood/aluminum and plastic aluminum, outside DB703 on large south areas (sliding lift door with 5 meters facing south, for example in wood/aluminum). Everything without creaking or warping or anything. I had white plastic windows in my apartment. After 18 years they look terrible, even though I was very careful. For that reason, I would never choose white plastic windows again. enjoys it. Great time and everything so exciting!

Oh, the enjoyment is over, I have better nerves than my husband but even I really don't feel like it anymore. It's like during pregnancy, in the end it's annoying and you just want it out—in this case, just done with it and finally be inside.

(In material and construction) high-quality wood/aluminum building components for builders wishing for real wood surfaces on the inside are unfortunately more expensive than consistently aluminum, but without fault. That both materials "work" very differently becomes an issue if the aluminum is not adequately freely supported on the wood and/or if actually wood qualities suitable for window construction are used (the latter is typical when aiming for a price close to plastic). From which manufacturer(s) are your components?
