I think everyone has different sleep. It's just like taste. Some people are not bothered at all by straps and save the money for an automatic roller blind, where maybe the first motors or something else in the electronics will break down in 5-10 years or so. And thus also the money for "maintenance". And some can sleep deep and restful with 20-30% daylight, others (because of shift work or simply because everyone is different / an individual person) need almost 100% darkness.

That's true in a way, but just look at the people who live next to the church. At first, they wondered how you can sleep next to a church bell, but after living there for a certain time, they don't even hear it anymore... it's all a matter of habit and one's own attitude. I myself am a good example. In the past, the blinds had to be completely down, total darkness, today I even take a nap with [Raffstore]^^

However, one does distinguish between (a) as deep and restorative sleep as possible (at night or between night shifts, e.g. during the day in darkened rooms) and (b) a midday nap aka power nap in modern terms with 30-40% or even more daylight (dimmed by whatever).

But now I’ll also bow out of the discussion here. Someone should post pictures again here. Currently, construction sites are probably at a standstill due to the freezing temperatures that have arrived in Germany, right?

To refocus attention on the actual topic - house pictures - here is a small pictographic progress report from our project. The exterior basement walls have been successfully erected.
