: It's about glued laminations anyway, so there are differences between the individual laminations regardless. So when joining two large panels, you're essentially doing the same thing.

It’s a different story if you want a solid board, made entirely from solid wood, because for a depth of 90 cm you would need a very substantial tree. Such boards exist, but they are not common products and accordingly quite expensive.

Do you know what the technical term for these boards is?

But you don’t mean [Trittstufen] (where you step on) and [Setzstufen] (where you stub your toe)?

No, those are cross-laminated boards, I was looking for something like that recently because I wanted to cover something up. But I couldn't find it...

He is here!!!! The chandelier is here!!!! And I am totally blown away:

Nice with light:

But also without:

It turns the large open space into a sculptural structure. The only thing that doesn’t fit me 100% is that the upper, smallest ring doesn’t shine downward. The lighting designer suggested this to us: the lower one only shines downward, the upper one only upward, the middle one in both directions – otherwise it would have been too bright. Only when the thing is lit and you look from below, it somehow looks as if the upper one is broken, and the three concentric circles might have come out even better illuminated if the upper one also shone downward.
But that’s nitpicking on a high level... Overall, I’m completely thrilled!

The other installed lamps are more of a side note...

The ones for the dining table:

They are still packed and are now lying on the gallery again so they don’t get in the way of the craftsmen.

And the stairs have gotten their spots:

Now the lamp man is taking a break until the kitchen island is in place and the mirrors arrive.
