We thought about it back and forth for a very long time. Grass was ruled out quite quickly because I was only able to sow the area 6 weeks ago. So we would have trampled everything during the setup. Also, I didn't want to explain to the child that although the playhouse is now standing, he can only use it in two months when the grass has properly grown. Furthermore, grass quickly forms paths where there is no grass anymore. And I really don't feel like dealing with that.

Bark mulch was also discarded quite quickly. Proper wood chips are very expensive.

We will now lay about 8 tons of play sand about 10 cm high on the area. I want to border it with those round fence posts that are simply laid according to growth direction.
