Good explanation for envy or resentment. Also better captures what I meant. Thanks for that.

When I read that, I had to think of the saying: Envy, the highest form of admiration. Addition: The house is super cool. I was a bit sad that we couldn't realize it that way. But there is at least one price class in between.

A wonderful house. Exactly my taste – especially on the inside. You can see many custom solutions that emphasize the exclusivity. Two details interest me: - Do you have sun protection on the floor-to-ceiling windows? In the pictures, there are no pre-built blinds boxes and no lintel where the boxes could be hidden? Flush ceiling lintel? - In one picture, the sliding door to the terrace can be seen. It has a high threshold/step, right?

Hello,

we do not have venetian blinds on the windows to the roof terrace. The reason is the complex structural engineering at this point. In addition, the terrace roof would have had to be thicker, which would have completely changed the character of the house and was therefore not an option. There is not even enough space in the ceiling in this area for recessed curtain rails…

The cantilever is dimensioned according to the angle of the sun. So far it works very well; if it becomes disturbing, we will have an internal rail with a curtain installed in front of the window construction – a planned risk…

We also have a step due to the roof insulation of the ground floor. A level exit through a ceiling offset would have been possible here, but it was not so important to us to justify the additional effort. The house is not barrier-free anyway.

Best regards

Great house! I would love to see more – both the exterior and the interior are very harmonious! does that mean the cantilever on the 1st floor at the terrace is constructed solidly with Isokörbe?

Thanks for the answer. Those were my suspicions as well.
We also absolutely wanted floor-to-ceiling windows (and doors). However, since we have a gable roof with a parapet (without roof overhang), sun protection was an important issue. One option for floor-to-ceiling windows would have been surface-mounted venetian blind boxes installed in the lintel area. But this would have greatly affected the clean-lined shape of the house. Our solution: lower the windows and doors from 270 to 240 instead. Looks nowhere near as sleek as yours – unfortunately, compromises have to be made...
