Climbee, you recently pointed out yourself that you might be upset about small things because the bigger part went so well. We have had the same experience. And the kinds of small things we argued about. With some distance, you see it more like that, but you are right in the middle of it now and I just want to point out that an end is in sight and everything will still work out and how good it is that somewhere it really is just small stuff (even if things like the railing or the sanitary problems are really annoying and unnecessary now).

So I also think that an otherwise problem-free process makes "minor issues" appear somewhat bigger. From my point of view, the plumbing issues are indeed really minor things.

However, I see it differently with the railing, that is quite unsightly. Did he give any reasons why, according to him, it can’t be done differently? So why should there necessarily be such problems at the edge areas, it doesn’t seem to be properly glued then. You can’t really see the screws on the fastenings in the picture, but that they are not all exactly parallel, you can. You probably only notice that if you “know” about it or have an eye for it, but at this price range, that is again something that shouldn’t be the case. However, this issue with the bonding at the edges is probably the biggest matter and I would definitely follow up on that!

The bubbles in the safety glass are definitely not normal. We don’t have anything like that, and I haven’t seen anything like that with friends either.

I don’t want to accuse him of anything, but it rather comes across as if he’s trying to pass off bad goods to you. I wouldn’t accept or pay for that.

Safety glass is available bubble-free. You see it in every bank, at every airport, at beach bars... You can expect it to be bubble-free. If it were not bubble-free, it would be considered misadvice.

Just conferred again with the installer: with only one outlet, it’s either the top or the hand shower – now I can also switch both in parallel by pressing both buttons. And that’s what we wanted, so to use the hand shower even when water comes from above.

The water flow and drainage have been designed for that.

Yes, these are minor things – but nerves are slowly wearing thin. Also because the electrician looked at my husband with wide eyes today and said that he still has 4 weeks until we move in. Nope, we agreed on handover with the new tenants on July 27th. At first, it was said it would be finished by mid/end of June – now it’s getting tight and actually, I wanted to prevent exactly that. The electrician made big eyes – now he has to pull out all the stops.

Well, now the necessary things for survival just have to be finished. Since today, the photovoltaic system is connected and we have our own electricity. Now the water still has to work, then at least we can use the toilet and have light (and not at the expense of my mother, from whom we have had construction power until now).

Annoying, because we actually planned 4 weeks of transition time to move our cats only after everything is basically done. Keeping 5 (probably deeply offended) outdoor cats in the new, unknown house while various craftsmen are constantly coming and going will be quite a challenge...

On Monday the glazier is coming again about the mirrors we also ordered from him; we will discuss that then. I also think he has a lousy supplier. But that can’t be our problem.

Once again to those who have glass railings without bubbles: do you have handrails or is it also "topless"?

Because the bubbles we have now would indeed disappear under the supposedly required handrail.
