Thank you for the flowers. Although it seems as if everything was well thought out, many things for us came gradually. For example, the facade color definitely had to be red. But when the house was built, we didn't "see" anything red. Suddenly, we only had gray in mind... and that was how it was with almost everything.

I read many construction blogs, etc., and with each one I got the feeling that the furnishing and wall color were already completely finished before the building application was submitted. Somehow, I felt unorganized compared to that...

By the way, I also summarized my building experiences in a blog, since I learned many processes from blogs. The next post to come will be about assembling an Ikea kitchen....

the wind could be a problem. It is generally very windy. and it changes hourly from different directions... I received a list of native shrubs from the LRA and will mainly stick to bird-friendly woody plants. We'll see, mental capacity is currently not really available. I think we first have to settle in and then see how we proceed in detail. In general, it should remain quite natural.

Flower meadow: this is currently intended as a temporary solution, since we will probably have to go over the property a few more times with the excavator (dry stone wall construction, setting granite columns, paving....)

The staircase is awesome! Please share some info

Where did you get the staircase from? How much more expensive was it (compared to what is included in the standard)? We are also currently dealing with the staircase topic and are having a really hard time Happy to get detailed info!

The beginning has been made. The soil in the top layer was slightly clayey, afterwards there was only sand. Duration 2.5 days.

I think it's good that you were able to start now; it looks great.

At the same time, you raise, from my point of view, an interesting philosophical question. Doesn't your post also belong at least equally in the thread I initiated, see below? I don't know, maybe someone can help.

Does an excavation pit belong more to properties or to houses? Does it perhaps depend on the size of the excavation pit? And are there more important things in this world?

The bare concrete staircase was included in the general contractor’s offer, everything else is more or less my own doing
The railing is a custom-made piece from a locksmith company. I designed it myself. The running meter costs about 1100,-
The staircase covering is our parquet floor.
