I actually know window seats as places where you lean against the side panels, and these are usually deeper because there is a shelf around the window seat.
For us it is like this:

But that wouldn't fit into Alessandro's room concept here.
I think the window seat is used more like a place to sit and look into the room - without leaning against anything.
I love our window seat - it's in my office/music room and when I have a conference call where you don't have to be on video and don't have to look at the screen, I always sit in the window and look at the mountains.
