: Is the extension of the beautiful gallery about soundproofing or “visitor deterrence”? Will your workspace be there permanently?

Soundproofing: Can be solved with furniture, the suggestion was not a joke.
Visitor deterrence: Small solution: privacy screen.
Soundproofing and visitor deterrence: combination of the above.
Last resort: Renovation
If only temporary: Use office space nearby. It’s significantly cheaper.
Another alternative with appropriate property size: cool garden office

My primary concern is soundproofing. How do you want to solve that with [Möbel]?

Really a shame. It looks very good. I have always been a big fan of such open gallery areas with a "desk niche" in show homes. The loose, airy open space feeling is really great.

But personally, I would never have built it that way, I'm too old-fashioned and I want clearly separated living/work areas by doors.

I'm curious about the result! For >10000 you can actually do something. Is it going in the industrial/loft style? Black steel frames with inset panes?

We also have a similar open gallery corridor, additionally with a large open space. A replacement workplace was also planned there. The sound carries everything upwards. I wouldn’t make the separation that will now arise fixed... what about fabric? Maybe revert to something tried and trusted and hang thick brocade fabric. I’m not saying that fits the style, nor that I like something like that - but maybe it doesn’t look so bad if you can draw it back again in the evening :)
