Overall, a wooden house, I believe, is somewhat less soundproofed. However, that was not decisive for us, and we will counteract it somewhat with clay plaster. From the beginning, it was clear to us that it would be a wooden house because we found the living atmosphere in wooden houses more pleasant. A basement was actually planned for a long time as a "normal" basement made of concrete with corresponding insulation.
The insulation values in terms of thermal insulation are excellent. Especially as it is done by Staudenschreiner (he is an environmental freak who also always tries to get the maximum environmental friendliness and sustainability out of the heating technology); our exterior walls are 40 cm thick.
2 years: that has nothing to do with the wooden house, but with a cranky municipal council *eye roll* that repeatedly rejected the construction project, even when the superior building authority had long given the green light. Ultimately, they could not prevent it but significantly delayed it. We had the approval from the LRA after some fights and compromises in late summer last year; all objection periods had then expired in March this year, and we had to wait for that, just so the municipality wouldn't try to initiate proceedings before the administrative court. We had enough experience with them during that time; we didn't want to take the risk that they would still file an objection in the last days.
