: What is the reason that you did not install the solar tiles on the entire roof? And how many kWp do you have installed in total now?

The reasons are - Our CO2 goal: The house should produce more clean energy than it needs. The design is generous. - We wanted to stay under 10 kWp to avoid paying the self-consumption energy surcharge - 9.99 kWp are installed - A tile with photovoltaic is more expensive than a tile without photovoltaic - You cannot see the difference when looking at the house from the street, only when looking up close like in the photo. - We can easily expand up to 27 kWp at a later time - just replace the tiles and plug in, wiring is already planned.

Thank you for the explanation. I already suspected that you went up to the 10kWp limit. And that a photovoltaic tile is more expensive is probably clear as well.

Do you know approximately how high your electricity consumption will be? The recommendation from the relevant photovoltaic forums is always maximum occupancy, if it makes sense in terms of irradiation.

Which photovoltaic tile is it?

Maximum utilization made sense when the feed-in tariff was higher than the purchase price. Those times have been over for a few years now. The energy surcharge to be paid makes maximum utilization even less attractive for private households. Economically, it makes sense to optimize the sizing for self-consumption and to complement it with energy storage. From an environmental perspective, it is worth considering compensating winter consumption through corresponding feed-in during the summer. However, this then affects economic viability (as in our case).

Our expected electricity demand is an "unknown," as we will change some lifestyle habits with the move and therefore have no experience yet. Additionally, we have already factored in that we will rely on electromobility for local transport in the near future.

The photovoltaic tiles are from Autarq. Ours are based on the Creaton Domino flat tile system. In addition, there is a hybrid inverter from Kostal, a large BYD battery box, and the connection to the heat pump water heater.

For a rooftop system, it makes sense because the modules are so cheap that the Renewable Energy Sources Act surcharge and the lower feed-in tariff do not matter and the system still pays off in 10 years.

Yes, you can calculate it that way if you have a very simple installation as well as inexpensive modules / electronics and you don't care about commercial regulations and tax issues.
