Maybe you could set up a camera, then you'll see which cat it is. I'm glad you at least have the other one back. Fingers crossed that the escaped stray will come back too!

If you hang these large lights lower, the disadvantage is that when standing in the room, you always have the lights in your field of vision. Otherwise, I think that gold-colored does go well with a wooden table, even if you don't have anything else golden in the room.

For us, it's easily more than a meter - so definitely too high. Even though the lights are large. Now, when sitting, you look directly into the three bulbs installed in the hemisphere, and it simply dazzles.

With such a large lampshade, I would always fear a conflict between "It does not dazzle" and "I can still see the person opposite me at the table." Is there even an optimal height that achieves both?

Yes, that is the mentioned 60-70cm, depending on the depth of the lampshade

Edit: For some models, there are diffusers available for retrofitting to minimize glare.
