The variety of German windows is like that of apples and potatoes in the supermarket: here you basically get Schüco or Kömmerling or competing products following a very similar pattern.
I worked at a window manufacturer and don’t see any truly world-changing advantage in profiles that are narrower by about a finger's width. An opening of windows(doors) outward is unusual in this country; manufacturers in other countries have more experience with that. Tilt-and-turn windows have also gone out of fashion here.

I spoke with Scanlux. They exclusively distribute Rationel windows in Germany. There is a 10-year warranty and extremely slim profiles. The windows perform much better than the German ones despite the slim profiles (even passive houses can use them). The Germans just can't manage it. It was very interesting. Wood aluminum triple glazed. Here are a few photos
