The variety of German windows is like that of apples and potatoes in the supermarket: here you basically get Schüco or Kömmerling or competing products following a very similar pattern.
I worked at a window manufacturer and don’t see any truly world-changing advantage in profiles that are narrower by about a finger's width. An opening of windows(doors) outward is unusual in this country; manufacturers in other countries have more experience with that. Tilt-and-turn windows have also gone out of fashion here.
