Good evening,

a few more questions... the longer you deal with the topic, the more uncertainties arise :)

1. If a cooktop is installed above a drawer base cabinet, does the top drawer always have to be replaced by a panel? Or does this only apply to induction cooktops?

2. My favorite among the cooktops so far is the HINF4T. Can it also be installed without problems above a 60cm drawer base cabinet? Or does it then protrude so far into the drawers of the cabinets to the left and right that these would also have to be replaced by panels?

3. Can wall cabinets be placed directly adjacent to tall cabinets, or should a few centimeters of space or filler strips be planned so that the doors of the wall cabinets can be opened?

4. What distance do the tall cabinets for built-in refrigerators need to have from the wall? Are the 5cm that the planner recommends sufficient? Or should more space be planned so that the doors can be opened wide enough to pull out the drawers of the fridge/freezer?

Best regards

Hello
Regarding point 1: I have a kitchen with drawers and an induction cooktop above—Ikea recommends installing the first drawer as a blind drawer, but I actually use the drawer itself and have covered it with 2 wall panels as protection under the induction cooktop (forks, etc.).

In general: Cabinets can always be installed without any gaps between them; I like to put a side panel in between because it makes the kitchen look a bit more substantial (if that’s what you want).

If you have further questions, I can certainly contribute something more.

Hello Minicatze!

I did it pretty much the same way as described by bergpriv.

I screwed the top narrow front, which is actually supposed to be firmly attached if there is an induction cooktop installed above, together with the middle front using specially obtained connectors from the sink cabinet (for the tall waste bin) to create an extra tall drawer. That way there is really a lot of space in the drawer!

And the induction cooktop mounted in a worktop about 4 cm thick doesn’t even protrude from the bottom of the worktop.

Good luck with your kitchen.

There are other solutions for the legs: You can wrap the Captiva legs with crepe tape and slide the cylinders of the plastic legs onto them (possibly cut to height as needed) and attach the base mount (C-ring), I did this with my tall cabinet that I recessed into the masonry! :D :D :D Best regards, bergpriv

A baseboard can also be easily attached to the Capita legs using 25 mm quick clamps /(pipe) clamps for electrical installation pipes. If the clamps should be adjustable for easier installation, there are also rails available for that.
