What is, is. You now have to save the 7 additionally somewhere else. Consider what is not necessary? The roller shutters so popular in the South are hardly needed by anyone in the North. The gray windows are just fashion, too. Tiles are also available for 20 per sqm. The front door made of plastic is fine, no one has to have aluminum. The fitted kitchen can gladly come from Ikea. A garage is not necessary. A shed for 800,- made of sheet metal also works for the lawnmower and the bicycle. The terrace works with 50 by 50 paving slabs as well. For the roof tile, Harzer Pfanne also covers it. Etc. Be critical with your own demands, define needs, not what others have. Karsten

Hi Karsten:
Unnecessary roller shutters, if at all, we only have one in the upstairs bathroom.
Windows are white.
The tiles are all included in the standard offer, so no added value here either.
I don't want a plastic front door; with a width of 176 cm including the side panel, the risk of warping is much too high.
The kitchen from Ikea doesn’t really get much cheaper if you have it delivered and assembled.
A garage/carport is not yet planned/calculated.
A shed isn't planned yet either, but 3 bicycles, a balance bike, stroller, buggy, bike trailer, 4 18” car tires, etc. all have to go somewhere.
Terrace is also not really firmly planned yet.
We already have Harzer Pfanne.

So not much remains.

Don't say what doesn't work. Say what works. Otherwise, you can't build if financing is maxed out and earthworks can't be had cheaper. Don't tell me, or us, tell yourself. I can only give tips on where to look, and 10 times 700 is also 7000. For example, front door only 110. Rest built with masonry. Terrace no sliding door. House overall a bit smaller. Controlled residential ventilation? Dispensable! Ever asked the contractor about Polish windows? Interior doors smooth white?

During the sampling, we did not choose anything that costs extra, unless it was more or less necessary that we like it. The house has to appeal to us as well.

Any changes would initially cost us 1000€.

Smaller front door, but the walls won't get cheaper. We thought the same with the windows, but the bricks, the adhesive, the labor, etc. also have to be paid for. And without a side panel, we wouldn't have any light falling into the hallway from the front. And we don't like glass directly in the door that much.

We don't have a sliding door.

Controlled residential ventilation I find very good, especially for allergy sufferers.

Polish windows?

Well, we are digressing, originally I wanted to know which soil one can procure oneself for compacting.

Hello 305er One possibility to stay within budget, you still have. It costs sweat and experience. Calculate how much RCL you need and have it delivered. Then rent a wheelbarrow, shovel, and a compactor for two or three days (20 euros per day plus fuel). It’s of course not easy, but doable. The best would be if you could limit the placement of the RCL to the footprint of the house. Then, when compacting in layers, unlink the frost barrier and possibly the different pipes so that no additional work is required later. Then the 6 thousand can work out. But you should understand at least some of it. Steven

I think you cannot obtain excavation material from others for compaction. The structural engineer will have to set and impose specific requirements on the material and the compaction. I am not an engineer, but others have already said similar things here.
